BTT Tivissa - Vandellòs
Vandellos
This village offers mountain vibes, medieval streets, and UNESCO-listed prehistoric caves, with stunning coastal and interior views for tourists.
Vandellòs, inland but not far from the sea, lies at just 270 metres above sea level. Nevertheless, the village is steeped in mountain atmosphere in every direction and invites you to walk and climb up the ridge to enjoy fabulous views of both the coast and the interior. The old town centre features a clearly medieval street layout, and in fact there is already evidence of its existence in the Middle Ages as the Valley of the Laurel, from which its name derives. It is not surprising, therefore, that its history speaks of ancient times, of battles and even of prehistoric men who left evidence of their passage in caves and rock shelters recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
