Kum is one of the most important Iberian cities in Catalonia, covering approximately 4.2 hectares, located 6 km from the town of Tivissa, at a strategic point for controlling the River Ebro.
It forms a walled peninsula with two magnificent pentagonal defence towers at the entrance, the foundations of a fine housing complex, and a natural gorge overlooking the River Ebro, offering a spectacular view of the river, its islands and the Ports.
In the same place where the Ilercavones gazed upon the Ebro, in the 14th century the city of Barcelona erected a small fortification known as the Castellet de Banyoles, the remains of which are still visible.
