A quaint village offers panoramic views, high-quality wine, and the historic Mata Abre monument.
A farming village, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. Darmós is a small village, situated 10 km from Tivissa. Its name is Arabic, derived from the Saracen inhabitants of the farmhouses that, clustered together, formed it. From certain points in the parish, you can enjoy a wide panoramic view from which you can see some of the municipalities of the Priorat and the Ribera d'Ebre. It is a farming village, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards that produce a high-quality wine. You can enjoy the Mata Abre, declared a monument in 1997, which features on the town's coat of arms. It has become the symbol of the town. The church is dedicated to Saint Michael, the town's patron saint. It was built in 1776, and there is no record of whether another had existed previously.
