Kum |Castellet de Banyoles

A walled peninsula with pentagonal towers offers stunning views of the River Ebro, its islands, and the Ports, featuring ancient housing remains.
Iberian balcony overlooking the River Ebro Kum is one of the most important Iberian cities in Catalonia, covering approximately 4.2 hectares, located 6 km from the town of Tivissa, at a strategic point for controlling the River Ebro. It forms a walled peninsula with two magnificent pentagonal defence towers at the entrance, the foundations of a fine housing complex, and a natural gorge overlooking the River Ebro, offering a spectacular view of the river, its islands and the Ports. In the same place where the Ilercavones gazed upon the Ebro, in the 14th century the city of Barcelona erected a small fortification known as the Castellet de Banyoles, the remains of which are still visible.
